Please read the following guidelines for a long and happy relationship with your sheepskin and wool products.

Cleaning and protection

Taking proper care of your sheepskin and wool products will ensure that they are a part of your life and home for a long time.

Sheepskin

Sheepskin is naturally dirt repellant so shaking and airing now and then in high humidity can be sufficient. To spot clean sheepskin, use lukewarm water and a mild detergent, or use cleaning products designed specifically for sheepskin. After cleaning stretch the skin back into shape whilst damp. Let it dry in a warm room, but never next to or over a direct source of heat. To restore the pile of a sheepskin, we recommend brushing with a soft brush or a brush specifically for sheepskins.

WE DO NOT RECOMMMEND WASHING SHEEPSKIN IN A WASHING MACHINE AND WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY SHEEPSKIN THAT HAS BEEN MACHINE WASHED.

Wool

Wool products are best washed by hand in lukewarm water when needed. Avoid detergents that contain enzymes and alkaline detergents. We recommend non-bio hand wash liquid.

Properties of sheepskin

Sheepskin naturally contains lanolin which has a self cleaning effect if left to hang in the air. It absorbs sweat and releases it into air much faster than synthetic materials. Self-regulating in terms of temperature, making it excellent for summer and winter. When we come into contact with sheepskin, air pockets form between our body and the sheepskin, allowing the air to circulate. This is also why sheepskin warms in the winter and cools in the summer, a huge advantage for slippers made of sheepskin.

Properties of wool

Wool absorbs moisture. When the wool fibres absorb moisture vapour, energy is produced so that the wool fibre does not feel damp, despite a water content up to 35%. Wool textile helps us to regulate our body temperature by absorbing moisture. Properties in wool  keep our body cool so we don't sweat when we wear it next to our skin.
